There Is No Doubt About It

Once in a town, there lived a rich man. He was a show-off. He loved to show-off the expensive items which filled his house.

One day, few people visited his house. As was his habit, he stated showing off all the objects to them. He pointed at the objects and said “This cuckoo clock is from Switzerland. The walking doll is from Japan.” This continued for sometime.

Suddenly one of the men asked him ” How nice are all these objects. But, do you have a talking parrot? My friend has a talking parrot.”

The rich man became all excited as he did not have a talking parrot which he could show-off. He said “A talking parrot? I will get one immediately. Wait for me.”

Then he rushed to the market to buy a talking parrot. He looked around and found a man selling parrots in the cages. He went up to him and pointed at one of the cage and asked “Can this parrot talk?” In came the reply “There is no doubt about it.” But, the reply came from the parrot and not from the seller. Hearing this the rich man became very happy. He gave a large sum of money to the seller and took the cage with the parrot. The seller kept on looking shocked and surprised.

The rich man rushed to show -off his talking parrot to the people who were waiting for him in his house. The rich man rushed in and shouted “Here is the parrot!”

He held the cage up so that everyone could see the parrot.

One of them asked the parrot “Can you talk?”

The parrot replied ” There is no doubt about it.”

Everyone was impressed. They decided to ask the parrot few more questions. “What is the day today?” asked one of them. In came the reply “There is no doubt about it.” Some one else asked another question. In came the same reply ” There is no doubt about it.”

Everyone started laughing “HA!HA!HA!HA! Your parrot knows only one sentence.”

The rich man was embarrassed. He looked at the parrot and said “Oh! What a fool I have been.”

“There is no doubt about it” in came the reply from the parrot.
