The Appetite
Once there was a man called Bhojahari. He loved to eat. But was never satisfied with the quantity of the food. He was always hungry inspite eating a great meal.
He stayed with his Uncle. Uncle had a shop and Bhojahari used to work in the shop. But half of the time he was absent from the work as he was busy on the lookout for food here and there. He was always complaining that he was hungry.
Now the Uncle was really angry. He thought “I have to find some solution for Bhojahari’s hunger. Half of the time he is absent from the shop and on top of it he eats so much.”
Uncle thought of visiting the hermit in nearby village. On reaching he told his whole story to the Hermit. On hearing his story, the Hermit replied “Do not worry. Take this powder and mix it in the food and serve it to Bhojahari. He will forget about food and will never be hungry again.”
After reaching the house, Uncle prepared a very big feast and mixed the powder in the food. Uncle was very happy that all his problem will be solved soon.
After eating the meal Bhojahari’s hunger pangs vanished. How much he tried he did not feel hungry. This made uncle really happy. He thought “Now he will concentrate on the work and will not run about in search of food.”
The next day Uncle waited Bhojahari to come to the shop. But he did not turn up. He waited another day still he did not turn up.
All confused he went to Bhojahari and asked “Why are you not coming to work?”
“What is the need to work? I am not hungry anymore so I don’t have any need to work.” Saying this he turned to another side and went off to sleep.
Hearing this Uncle ran to the Hermit with request to bring back the appetite of Bhojahari.
